I Believe in Me

I am in a place right now where I have to believe in me. I am the one that has to believe in me. There are a plenty of people around that tell me how they believe in me but there is a handful of people that I BELIEVE, believe in me. They not only tell me but they show me. These people call me, cry with me, laugh with me, listen to me. These people tell me that they love me. They are not afraid to cuss me out with love while we walk in the park or sit in a restaurant having lunch and as we depart, give each other love and kisses goodbye. These are the ones that pump my energy to keep me moving because they help me believe in me.
Then there are the ones that say they believe in me. These are the ones that I looked for to show me support whenever I needed it. These are the ones that I called when I needed a boost but instead, in my weak moment, became the one lifting that person up. These are the ones that never listened to the pain that I wanted to express when I fell weak but watched me fall and talked about me as I helped myself up off of the ground. I can go on and on about the people that were there, watching me, waiting for the time that I did not help myself up. Instead, they laid on the ground while we shared stories of misery. I did not wait. I stood up, broken hearted and ran.
One day I woke up and ran from that person saying how much they believed in me and ran into a group of people who made me feel that they believe in me. Some of these people are ones that I never acknowledge because their hands were blinded by people standing in my way of success. I was deaf to the voices that said, "let me listen to you." I had so many voices in my head telling me stories of guilt, pain, misery instead of joy, love, overcoming life obstacles and most important, God. I have been blessed to say that God has given me the experience to know the difference from different types of people.
I am now surrounded by people that believe in themselves. These are the ones that took time out to get to know who they are as an individual. These are the ones that love themselves but because of self love, they are able to genuinely share love. The love that they share in felt with an enormous amount of strength. I believe in these people because they pushed negativity out of there lives and believed that they are capable to succeed no matter what obstacles stood in their way. They will take nothing less and are a walking inspiration. They are my inspiration because they believe in themselves. They don't have to tell me that they believe in me because they already show it. When I say that I love you, know that I mean it because I believe in myself too much to lie to you. I believe and love me!

Silent Noise

Silent noise is all around me. I hear it as I observe and listen. It is a noise that has been silenced due to voices that do not want to be heard. Silent noise is felt through vibrations that radiate through our world's atmosphere. Silent noise can either make our hearts break or give our heart strength. Silent noise can do both. Silent noise is not heard, it is felt as we all listen to this noise. Silent noise is made by those who fear to be heard. Silent noise is heard by those who listen carefully. Silent noise is weight added to emotional strength that this poet builds from. Silent noise gives strength as I deliver my flo-e-tic sounds to our world.

Back Straight, Chin Up: Regaining Clarity

Regaining Clarity

The month of May has begun and I am ready to make this my own. In the middle of April, anybody that experienced my world could say that their life crashed, but not me. My life took a whole other turn for the best. The events that took place brought motivation to push out my poetry book, enroll in school and put major focus in having my publishing company by the end of this year. The events that took place did not depress me, it motivated me.

For the past five years I depended on a job (not career) that supported me and my boys. Everything in the world made a change and so I booked a ticket to Vegas. They say, "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Well, yes it does so I'm going to go ahead and leave it there. One thing that I can say is that when I stepped outside to the balcony in our room and inhaled the fresh, out of state air, I felt renewed. I knew that I was on a much better road. I am blessed to say that I have grace the stage of the bottom and now I'm on a rise.

When you think that everything is going all bad and there is nothing that's working for you, get away. Loosing my job was just a taste of the garbage that I experienced in April but I lived to see a brand new month. I was able to put the filth behind me and get away. So my advice to anyone that may be feeling down, thinking how life is hard, can't get off the couch because their past brought so much pain, get up. Get away. If you can't afford to leave town, leave your house. Even if it's to a park in the city that you live in. Google a park that you've never been at, bring a blanket or chair and soberly enjoy the scenery, inhale the fresh air and regain clarity. It works!
